Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Food Service Representative to maintain a well-stocked department and deliver outstanding customer service. You'll prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily while upholding food safety and sanitation standards.

You will assist customers, use suggestive selling, and collaborate with Bakery, Deli, and Prepared Foods teams to ensure quality and on-time service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (PC, scales, label machines)
• Strong customer service skills
• Reading and writing skills
• Planning and organizing skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent
• Completion of Company Orientation
• Food safety and sanitation training upon hire
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs+

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service and assist customers with selections
• Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in the department
• Use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and increase sales
• Operate and maintain department equipment and follow procedures
• Bakery: assist production planning and quality control
• Deli: handle service counter orders and inventory processes
• Prepared Foods: package and label items and educate customers on reheating
