Position: Food Services Manager

Program: Kitchen

Reports to: Director of Housing and Shelter Programs

Compensation: $75,000 annually, Full-Time, based on experience. Position Description

The Food Service Manager develops menus and oversees kitchen operations for Mission Action's housing and shelter clients. The role supports a flexible work schedule as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

• Develop team members’ potential
• Ensure team performance meets objectives
• Lead team meetings
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards
• Train team members
• Supervise production, quality, and control
• Perform inventory management
• Manage performance and verify time cards

Compliance

• Maintain a safe, healthy environment
• Follow policies and regulations related to safety, health, wages, and hours

Other Duties

• Operate according to the Employee Handbook
• Treat community members with respect and dignity
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience working with low-income and immigrant communities, especially in the Mission District and San Francisco, preferred
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
• Management experience of at least 1 year
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate across programs
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods
• Bilingual Spanish skills preferred
• Food Manager Certification (must obtain within 30 days if not already certified)
• TB clearance required
