Job summary

Mn Adult & Teen Challenge is seeking a Food Service Manager in Rochester, MN to oversee kitchen operations, purchasing, inventory, safety, and staff training. The role ensures meals meet nutritional and safety standards while maintaining cost-effective processes.

The manager will prepare menus, supervise staff, coordinate deliveries, and uphold health inspections. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for success in this institutional setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years of Food Service supervisory experience in an institutional setting.
• Documented one year freedom from chemical use problems.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to successfully complete background check process.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing and inventory control: orders food and supplies and tracks donors and storage locations.
• Safety, sanitation, and regulatory duties: maintain HACCP procedures and inspections.
• Scheduling and supervision: prepare menus, build work schedules, coordinate staff and training.
• Food preparation and delivery: plan nutritionally adequate meals and ensure timely serving and transport.
