Job description

General Summary: Food Service Managers partner with the General Manager in planning, supervising, and managing operations in the food service area of a FiveStar. They are responsible for communication, merchandising, customer service, food safety, storage, preparation, sanitation, supervision, and training in the food service areas.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Proficient in Customer Service Representative responsibilities.
2. Partner with management to ensure FiveStar customer service in the food service area as per company policies and procedures.
3. Stay informed about health and food safety regulations including sanitation, storage, expiration, preparation, cooking, thawing, and temperature controls.
4. Maintain knowledge of company policies regarding food service, such as inventory control, food quality, equipment maintenance, cleaning, accounting procedures, and food preparation standards.
5. Follow up with General Managers on communications related to food service, including emails, specials, and company programs.
6. Manage merchandising aspects like signage, pricing, freshness, and presentation of products.
7. Promote company food service sales and promotional activities.
8. Collaborate with the General Manager to train and supervise staff in food service responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 1 year of food service experience
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid Driver's License (preferred)
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of food-service equipment
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent time management
• Team player, customer-focused, honest, hardworking, with excellent attendance

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
• Daily activities include standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, squatting, climbing, walking, lifting up to 55 lbs., and working in cold environments (35°F or less)
• Ability to work in varying seasonal weather conditions
