Job description

Higginsville Habilitation Center - Food Service Manager

Higginsville Habilitation Center is recruiting for a Food Service Manager in our Dietary Department to be a part of a highly effective team that makes a difference in the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. HHC is a state-operated program within the Department of Mental Health and supports individuals receiving 24/7 services.

The Food Service Manager must be detail-oriented, work well with others, have good time management skills, possess leadership skills, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee food preparation and service in accordance with dietetic principles.
  • Conduct and maintain inventories, complete requisitions for food and supply items.
  • Maintain financial records and budget information for food service costs.
  • Make hiring recommendations, train staff, plan, assign, and review work.
  • Provide performance assessments, coaching, and progressive discipline.
  • Maintain compliance with USDA regulations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have knowledge of computerized inventory systems and the ability to prepare and maintain records of food usage and per capita costs.

Qualifications:
  • 5 years of food service experience and 2 years of supervisory experience (substitutions may be allowed).

Schedule:

Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with weekends off.
