Job summary

Washington State University is seeking a Food Service Worker Lead - Utility within Student Affairs. The role involves leading student employees and non-permanent staff in the dish room, pots-and-pans room, and related areas, while ensuring a clean, sanitized environment and proper storage of dishware and cookware.

You will help distribute items to workstations as needed and support efficient Dining Services operations.

Qualifications

• Possession of, or eligible for, a food handler’s permit and one year of experience in quantity or institutional food preparation and serving, including six months directing others.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Washington Food Handler’s Permit within 14 days of employment.
• Must be willing to work a varied work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Lead and instruct student employees and non-permanent staff in the dish room, pots-and-pans room, and related areas.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment and ensure proper storage and supply of dishware, utensils and cookware.
• Distribute items to workstations or storage areas according to operational needs to support dining services.
• Contribute to efficient Dining Services operations while fostering a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.
