Food City is seeking an Assistant Food Service Manager to join our Knoxville team. You will support the Food Service Manager, lead by example, and drive sales through effective merchandising of fresh products while training and developing staff.

Responsibilities include maintaining high customer service standards, enforcing Food City policies, and building a positive, productive department environment with strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in Food Service Department operations.
• Ability to resolve differences and diffuse difficult situations diplomatically.
• Knowledge of training methods.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform routine tasks.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Leading by example to deliver Food City customers their best shopping experience.
• Familiarity with Food City policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous customer service in support of the company mission.
• Lead by example and set standards for service, associate relations, cleanliness and profitability.
• Maintain a positive, friendly atmosphere through teamwork.
• Foster a customer-first environment and ensure prompt, courteous service.
• Interact professionally with management, associates, supervision, and customers.
• Assist the Food Service Manager in running all Food Service operations.
• Train and develop Food Service staff in required skills and responsibilities.
• Implement marketing programs and merchandising plans including plan-o-grams.
• Assist in ordering merchandise to maintain inventory and avoid stockouts.
• Complete department paperwork and manage inventory.
• Inspect and rotate products, manage close-dated items.
• Maintain a clean, safe department adhering to sanitation schedules.
• Follow local, state, and federal regulations for Food Service.
• Communicate with Store Manager, Food Service Manager, and other leaders.
• Assist in enforcing the Food Safety program.
• Attend on-site shifts to adhere to time and attendance policies.
