Job summary

Oakland Schools is seeking a dependable Food Service Kitchen Helper to support daily kitchen operations at John Page Middle School. You will assist with food preparation, meal service, cashiering, cleaning, and maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain). You will work a 5.5 hour day, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–1:30pm, during a 10.5-month contract term, with pay at $15.25 per hour and opportunities

Responsibilities

• Follow food safety, sanitation and HACCP procedures.
• Take and record food and equipment temperatures.
• Wash dishes, clean equipment, and maintain a clean kitchen.
• Label, date and properly store food items.
• Provide excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors.
• Assist with catering, special events, and other duties as assigned.

This position supports daily kitchen operations by assisting with food preparation, meal service, cashiering, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.

This position is contracted through EduStaff. Employment, payroll, and eligibility for any available benefits are administered by EduStaff.
Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.
Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance.
