What You’ll Do

Meal Service & Resident Support

  • Serve meals to residents in a respectful, timely, and attentive manner.
  • Assist residents during meals, including feeding when appropriate under nursing direction.
  • Provide beverages and ensure resident needs are met throughout meal service.
  • Prepare and deliver snacks and nourishments as scheduled.
  • Notify nursing staff of resident concerns, including absences from meals.
  • Welcome and assist guests during meal times.
  • Assist with basic food preparation using established menus and recipes.
  • Prepare work and serving areas prior to meal service.
  • Replenish supplies in assigned work areas.
  • Assist with dishwashing and kitchen support tasks as needed.

Cleaning & Sanitation

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary dining and kitchen environment.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, workstations, and food carts after each meal.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
  • Utilize downtime to maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned areas.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Demonstrate proper hand hygiene and safe food handling practices.
  • Maintain awareness of fire safety and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain respectful and positive relationships with Sisters, residents, staff, and guests.
  • Participate in department meetings, trainings, and in-services as assigned.
  • Follow organizational policies and departmental procedures.
  • Support coworkers and assist with additional duties as needed.

  • Frequent pushing and pulling of carts and food service equipment.
  • Ability to work in kitchen environments with temperature variations, including refrigerated and hot cooking areas.
  • Work is performed primarily in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to heat, humidity, and noise from food service equipment.
  • Employees may experience temperature changes when working between food preparation areas and refrigerated or freezer storage areas.
