The Sisters of St. Francis are seeking a part-time Caregiver (CNA / Resident Assistant) to provide hands-on care within the Nursing Department in Dubuque, IA.

You will assist with daily living activities, accompany residents to meals, and support health-related needs under the direction of the Director of Nursing. Requirements include CNA certification or Nurse Aide experience, a high school diploma or GED, and food service training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting comfort, dignity and participation in community life.
  • Assist the nurse on shift with health-related needs and emergencies.
  • Respond promptly to call lights in Clare and Francis buildings.
  • Support personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, repositioning and mobility.
  • Assist with meal service and kitchenette cleanliness.
  • Change bed linens and clean beds per schedule.
  • Assist with walking, exercise and safe transport across the campus.
  • Support participation in activity programs.
  • Record vital signs as directed by the nurse.
  • Assist with safe transfers following lifting guidelines.
  • Pass beverages and nourishment between meals.
  • Assist with liturgy and chapel activities.
  • Provide companionship and interaction with Sisters.
  • Maintain clean, safe neighborhood areas and rooms.
  • Follow infection control and safety policies.

  • Provide companionship and meaningful interaction with Sisters between assigned duties.
  • Maintain clean, neat, and safe neighborhood areas and Sister rooms.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness according to daily use and scheduled cleaning procedures.
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies in accordance with Mount St. Francis Center standards and state regulations.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with fire, tornado, and disaster procedures.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
