Job summary

Kenmore Tonawanda UFSD is seeking a Floating Food Service Helper for the school district. The role requires the ability to fill in at any kitchen across district buildings, with hours varying and a 3–3.5 hour daily schedule within a 10-month duty calendar.

Responsibilities include preparing, cooking and serving food, cashiering, washing and sanitizing utensils, and other food service tasks as needed. Candidates should have some experience in domestic work and be able to read and write English;

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include some experience in domestic work, including food service.
• Ability to read and write English, or equivalent training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve food, cashier, wash and sanitize utensils.
• Work cooperatively with Cook Managers and others on all assigned jobs.
• Be available to work the hours specified and fill in at any building in the district.

Job description

Hours vary between: 10:00 am-1:45pm (3 -3.5 hours per day) 10 month duty schedule

* This is a Floating Food Service Helper position. Must have ability to fill in at any kitchen in the District-Hours will vary depending onwhich building you are assigned to for the day.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Elementary knowledge of the proper method of serving food and the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliances; practical working knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliances; ability to follow simple oral and written directions; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. (Must be able to lift 40 lb. cases).

Minimum Qualifications:Some experience in domestic work, including food service and ability to read and write English, or any equivalent combination of the foregoing training and experience.

Duties of Assignment: Preparing, cooking and serving food, cashiering, washing and sanitizing food service utensils with other food service activities required for the operation of the food program. Food Service Helpers are to work cooperatively with the Cook Managers and others on ANY jobs assigned. Must be available to work hours as stated above.
