Job Description

Food Service Cook

Position Title: Food Service Cook

Reports to: Kitchen Manager(s), Sous Chef(s) and Executive Chef

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform the steps of SSA EXTRA Guest Service to ensure a memorable experience for every guest and client.
  2. Support restaurant prep (BOH and line) for daily operation.
  3. Meet daily quick service, food service, safety and quality, availability, merchandising and guest service standards.
  4. Ensure proper food quantities are set for daily and ongoing service.
  5. Participate in safety logs including food temperatures, rotation and waste as necessary.
  6. Ensure safe food handling is maintained.
  7. Ensure proper uniform, hygiene, hand-washing and glove use with self.
  8. Maintain a SSAfe work environment by abiding to all SSAFETY rules.
  9. Follow through daily prep and items lists, as assigned.
  10. Actively help to support operation in assigned role, supporting holes as necessary.
  11. Actively and efficiently respond to guest and client feedback, with report to the supervisor to ensure that any potential complaints are mitigated against further occurrence.
  12. Communicate up to the Restaurant Supervisor and/or Food Operations Manager in regard to any issues seen with daily service or quality.
  13. Remain knowledgeable of all menu items, prices and specials for sharing with guests.
  14. Assist with dishwashing as necessary.
  15. Perform other tasks as deemed necessary.
  16. Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
  17. Uphold and demonstrate a complete understanding of company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  2. Exceptional problem solving/decision making skills combined with the ability to be organized.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Ideal candidate is a team player, personable, professional, upbeat and energetic, and takes initiative.
  5. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes (10-35lbs) as necessary to operation, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above.
  6. Ability to work varied hours/days, including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed.

Previous Experience:

  1. 1-2 years food preparation.
