Job summary

Target is seeking a Food Service Expert in California to help guests with a friendly, efficient shopping experience and maintain food safety and stock across Food & Beverage areas. You will support cafe operations and ensure a clean, welcoming environment for customers.

Ideal candidates enjoy teamwork, flexible hours, and a physical, fast-paced role. Prior food or grocery experience is helpful but not required; training is provided to build necessary skills.

Qualifications

• Strong interest and knowledge of the food service business.
• Previous food or grocery experience preferred, but not required
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners
• Work both independently and with a team
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
• Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments.
• Greet guests at 10ft and 4ft with a warm, helpful interaction
• Help guests find items and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude
• Deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience during all hours of operations
• Maintain Food & Beverage standards and signage where applicable
• Perform production, replenishment, signing, and inventory routines as directed
• Produce, label and package items to specification and assist with department routines
• Keep a neat, clean dining area and adapt displays as needed
• Assist with back-up cashier, order pickup, and drive-up duties when required
• Follow safety and food safety requirements and record temperature sensitive items as outlined
• Complete training requirements related to quality control of products
• Ensure a culture of ethical conduct and compliance
