Job summary

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to operate and maintain work equipment and tools.
• Stock or delivery experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily work schedule.
• Plan daily delivery trips to conserve energy and time.
• Put away stock in an orderly manner as deliveries come in.
• Maintain storage areas (sweep and mop on a weekly basis).
• Bring in food from freezer as requested by cooks.
• Assist co-workers in lifting heavy objects.
• Maintain cleanliness of delivery van.
• Notify supervisor of repairs or maintenance needs.
• Obey all traffic laws.
• Notify supervisor of out-of-stock items.
• Notify supervisor of unsafe conditions or shortages requiring action.
• Clean equipment, tables and surfaces with approved sanitizing agents.
• Clean kitchen floor and sink with approved cleaners.
• May floater within the department to cover staff absences.
• Demonstrate understanding of the district's mission and advance it through daily practice.
• Contribute to district culture by modeling core values and representing the district.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

NATURE OF POSITION

The food service driver ensures prompt delivery of all breakfasts and lunches, maintains walk-in cooler, freezers and storage room in a neat, organized manner and cleans kitchen floors daily. The driver works cooperatively with others to provide students, staff and the community with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environment and maintains effective public relations with parents, staff, students and visitors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain storage areas (sweep and mop on a weekly basis)
• Bring in food from freezer as requested by cooks
• Assist co-workers in lifting heavy objects
• Maintain cleanliness of delivery van
• Notify supervisor of any necessary repairs or maintenance services needed on food service van or cleaning of equipment
• Obey all traffic laws
• Notify supervisor of any out of stock items
• Notify supervisor of any unsafe working conditions and any shortages or problems that required immediate action
• Clean equipment, lunch tables and food contact surfaces following proper sanitation techniques using approved sanitizing agents
• Clean kitchen floor and hand sink using approved cleaning and degreasing agents
• May service as a floater within the department, picking up additional hours by covering staff absences as needed/available
• Demonstrate an understanding of the district's mission, vision and strategic priorities and actively works to advance them through daily practice and professional conduct
• Contribute to the culture and climate of the district by modeling its core values, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment and serving as a committed representative of the district's identity and purpose in all interactions with students, families, staff and the broader community
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director
