Job summary

Elior Collegiate Dining is seeking a motivated Food Service Director to lead the Collegiate Dining team at Pearl River Community College. You will oversee all aspects of the food service department, ensuring high standards of service for students, faculty, and guests.

You will recruit and train staff, manage budgets, ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations, and collaborate with district management on dining operations.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills with hourly staff and company executives.
• Ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client satisfaction.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add a motivated, effective food service director to our Collegiate Dining team. As a food service director, you will have the opportunity to lead a talented team of food service workers and manage all aspects of a food service department to ensure that students, faculty & customers and clients never miss a meal.

What you'll be doing:

• Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts.
• Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least two years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Previous experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.
• The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.
• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice-to-haves:

• ServSafe and/or HACCP certification

Compensation Range

Up to $66,000 per year depending on experience
