Job summary

Elior School Dining is seeking a motivated Food Service Director to oversee the school dining operation in the Ft. Lauderdale area.

You will lead a skilled team, manage all food service functions, and ensure compliance with culinary, safety, and sanitation standards while meeting budget targets. The role requires strong communication skills, experience in coordinating food service operations, and the ability to work with diverse groups including staff and executives.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills with hourly staff and executives.
• Ability to manage in a diverse environment with client and customer focus.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications.

We are looking to add a motivated, effective food service director to our School Dining team in Ft. Lauderdale area. What you'll be doing:

• Managing all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Manage and lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensuring that staff meet all culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budgeting for the department, including directly purchasing ingredients and ensuring the account meets all targets and forecasts.
• Conferring with the district manager or other departments regarding the technical and administrative aspects of dining service.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• At least three years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Previous experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills and experience communicating with both hourly staff and company executives.
• The ability to manage in a diverse environment with a strong focus on client and customer services and satisfaction.
• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Nice-to-haves:

• Previous experience in school dining under NSLP
• Previous experience in contract food service management
• ServSafe and/or HACCP certification

Compensation Range

up to $65,000 / year+ bonus based on experience.
