Job summary

UPMC Western Maryland's Dietary Services department is seeking a part-time Food Service Cashier. The role involves front-end register work, cash handling, and occasional food prep across multiple areas with training to float between cashier, grill, home zone, salad bar, and pizza.

Days/evenings with rotating weekends/holidays required to fit a busy hospital environment. Ideal candidates will have experience in cashiering and a willingness to work in a dynamic setting, following HACCP guidelines

Qualifications

• Experience in cashiering and food prep preferred.

The Dietary Services department at UPMC Western Maryland is seeking a Food Service Cashier! If you are experienced in food prep and cashiering, this may be a great fit for you!

This part time position will work days and evenings with rotating weekends and holidays required. The employee will be trained to float in multiple areas including cashier, grill, home zone, salad bar, and pizza. This would be a great role for someone who likes change in their work environment!

This position is responsible for accurately registering all sales of retail customers while maintaining security of all monies in and around the cash registers through the work shift

Responsibilities:

• Maintains work areas in clean and orderly condition according to HACCP guidelines.
• Collects money from cash customers and returns change accurately in accordance with established cash handling procedures
• Sets up cashier's station at beginning of shift and maintains funds appropriately throughout shift
• Records miscellaneous non-monetary purchases accurately
• Ensures food products are charged accurately by consistently checking the portion sizes and verify contents according to department procedure. Notifies supervisor/manager of any portion discrepancies immediately
