Overview

Responsibilities include patient tray assembly, delivering and retrieving food trucks from patient floors, passing patient trays (excluding red dot), helping with scrapping, washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes, pots, and pans. Deliver food supplies to different hospital areas as needed. May be assigned any duty within the food and nutrition department.

Responsibilities
  1. Patient meal service
    • Deliver food trucks to appropriate nursing units at designated meal times and pick them up according to department policies.
  2. Safety programs
    • Understand HASAP and proper food handling procedures.
  3. Goals and objectives
    • Participate in all staff meetings.
  4. Systems and processes
    • Support policies and procedures of the department.
  5. Time management
    • Use time efficiently to complete work assignments. Consistently apply the 'clean as you go' method and perform cleaning tasks, keeping the work area clean and organized.
  6. Dishwashing duties
    • Tend, load, and clean dish machines; wash pots and pans. Operating temperatures should be recorded on the temperature sheet each morning.
  7. Patient trays and nourishments
    • Set up patient trays and nourishments. Assemble prepared food and beverages on trays for all diets in a timely manner.
  8. Cafeteria work
    • Work in the cafeteria, charging the correct price when cashing out customers according to the price list.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience: Four weeks of on-the-job training to become proficient.
