Job Details

Reporting to the Supervisor of Food Service and with guidance from the Lead Food Service Associate, the Food Service Associate is responsible for providing patient meals and food service to ensure patient satisfaction. Patients may range from infancy through late adulthood.

Job Description

1. Sets up and stocks the assigned station prior to service and for the next meal to facilitate efficient meal service.
2. Retrieves patient meal trays to ensure sanitary, safe, and timely delivery of patient meals.
3. Maintains appropriate floor stock according to par levels and records usage accordingly.
4. Handles food following proper sanitary and safety guidelines, adhering to food service handling policies and procedures.
5. Prepares food using recipes to provide consistent, safe, nutritionally appropriate, and tasty meals that are cost and budget compliant.
6. Complies with CDC hand hygiene guidelines.
7. Prepares or serves hot or cold beverages, such as coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, or teas, and serves prepared foods like muffins, biscotti, or bagels.
8. Stores leftovers appropriately and utilizes them in subsequent days/menus to ensure timely serving.
9. Packages, labels, and dates hot food items for patient service and cafeteria operations according to cook and chill guidelines, including vacuum packing as required.
10. Cross-training may be provided to perform various duties across different areas such as tray line, storeroom, and food preparation.
11. Supports proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment in dish room or pot area in accordance with standards.
12. Maintains proper care and safe storage of food, equipment, and surrounding areas.
13. Completes daily and special cleaning assignments to ensure a sanitary and safe environment.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.

AND

Experience:

6+ months of previous food service experience preferred but not required.
