Position: Fresh Foods Clerk

The role involves managing the daily operations of the store's deli/foodservice, ensuring high standards of sanitation, store appearance, and customer service, while adhering to company policies and procedures. A passion for food and serving customers is essential!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Providing friendly and positive interactions with customers and team members.
• Engaging customers with greetings, product information, sampling, and expressing gratitude.
• Delivering fast, friendly customer service.
• Handling cash register transactions, including giving change and processing refunds.
• Using scale printers accurately for weights and pricing.
• Monitoring product pricing, signage, and placement, including shelf tags and signage.
• Maintaining cleanliness and order at the check stand and work areas.
• Preparing, wrapping, boxing, weighing, slicing, and stocking deli/food products, rotating stock as necessary.
• Cooking and preparing deli items such as fried foods, salads, sandwiches, roller grill items, beverages, and snacks.
• Working safely with sharp tools, hot ovens, and burners.
• Displaying products according to merchandising guidelines.
• Taking customer orders and ensuring timely, satisfactory completion.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings; willing to assist other locations.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Serv-Safe certification preferred.
• Interest in learning new products and recipes.
• A love for food and creativity.
• Courteous, helpful, and tactful demeanor at all times.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Basic math skills for transactions and measurements.
• Ability to operate register, scales, scanners, and payment terminals.
• Ability to read UPC codes, labels, signage, and company policies.
• Knowledge of deli ingredients and food preparation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
• Reaching, bending, working in coolers and freezers.
• Standing for long periods, with frequent lifting and maneuvering of supplies.
• Dexterity for using knives, slicers, and other equipment.
