This is a Team Leader Position responsible for directing and assisting with the training of Food Service Assistants. The role involves working in a satellite kitchen, receiving bulk food from the Main Kitchen, and performing final food preparation or cooking. Responsibilities include maintaining food safety temperatures, plating meals according to dietary needs, following food handling policies, assisting trainers, providing snacks and nourishments, proper food storage and labeling, maintaining cleanliness, managing stock, and interacting with residents and staff. The Team Leader also oversees dishwashing, utensil and equipment cleaning, and may assist in other kitchen areas. Main Kitchen staff prepare foods using various methods like steaming, baking, boiling, broiling, frying, and grilling, and are responsible for making mechanical adjustments to food and sanitizing workstations. Flexibility to work in other departments is required.
This position is designated Mandatory and requires reporting or staying over during adverse weather. Multiple vacancies are being filled. The salary range effective June 1, 2023, is $26,851.00 - $46,991.00, with a Grade NC01 recruitment range of $31,200.00 - $46,991.00. Positions include various shifts and locations within Nutritional Services at the Center.
