This is a Team Leader Position responsible for giving direction to and assisting with the training of other Food Service Assistants. These positions are assigned to a satellite kitchen, receiving bulk food items from the Main Kitchen, and performing some final preparation/cooking of the Main Kitchen. Responsibilities include maintaining safe temperatures of food items, plating meals to follow specifically ordered diets, following safe food-handling policies/procedures, assisting trainer staff in kitchens as needed, providing snacks and medically ordered nourishments for residents, completing proper food storage and labeling, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, ordering and replenishing stock items from the Main Kitchen, and providing appropriate interaction with residents and co-workers. The Team Leader is also responsible for washing and storage of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and appliances in the kitchen. Positions in the Main Kitchen assist in preparing and/or cooking a variety of foods using various methods such as steaming, baking, boiling, broiling, frying, and grilling to meet production schedules. This position is responsible for making mechanical modifications to prepared food accordingly and for cleaning and sanitizing workstation and equipment used. Flexibility to work in other departmental areas as needed is required. As a Team Leader, this position is responsible for orientating, training, guiding, and assisting other Food Service Assistants.
This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
