Job Summary
The Food Service Assistant is responsible for monitoring and recording food temperatures, maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food, restocking, cleaning equipment, handling payments with a computerized register, and other related duties. Ensures compliance with HACCP guidelines, provides excellent customer service, and communicates effectively with patrons and co-workers. Demonstrates ability to build effective working relationships and maintain quality standards.
May operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers. Prior experience in food service is preferred.
Must be able to work independently, understand food safety and sanitation, and be on feet for most of the day, walking long distances.
Qualifications
Minimum age of 16. Previous customer service, retail, and money reconciliation experience preferred. Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and perform basic math. On-the-job training provided.
Depending on location, ServSafe certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required within specified timeframes.
