Prairie School Inc is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant/Food Prep to support daily school meals. You will assist with basic food preparation, portioning, serving meals, and maintaining clean serving and dining areas. This role requires a friendly, service-oriented demeanor and the ability to work with students and staff in a fast-paced school environment; previous kitchen experience is preferred.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior food service or food preparation experience preferred.
• Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and safe food-handling procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor when interacting with students and colleagues.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Experience working in a school setting is a plus.

Food Service Assistant/Food Prep

Description:Food Service Assistant/Food Prep – Part-time/Hourly position. This position assists with daily food service operations, including basic food preparation, portioning and serving meals, setting up serving areas, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining areas, and properly storing food and supplies. Additional duties may include washing dishes, cleaning food-preparation equipment and utensils, and assisting with other tasks as needed.

This position works in a school environment and involves direct interaction with students. A professional, friendly, service-oriented demeanor is essential, along with the ability to maintain a positive, welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. This position reports directly to the Food Service Director.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred

• Prior food service or food preparation experience preferred
