Job summary

Tucson Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a prep cook to assist with the preparation and service of food for patients, employees, and special events, using proper food handling and safety techniques.

Responsibilities include delivering meals to patient floors, restocking supplies, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. Pay varies with experience and qualifications, with opportunities to grow within hospital foodservice.

Qualifications

• Experience as prep cook or cook preferred, but not required.
• Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail.
• Food safety certifications as required by jurisdiction (ServSafe).
• Work alongside cooking staff to prep for daily meal service.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and service of food to patients, employees, and events.
• Maintain clean and safe working environment; take out trash and restock items.
• Deliver food to patient floors and restock dishes, utensils, and glassware.
• Document temperature readings of dish machines during shifts.

Job description

Position Summary:

Assistswith preparation and service of food using proper food handling and food safety techniques for patients,employeesandspecial events, resulting in foods that taste good, are served at the proper temperature, and inan attractive mannerin accordance withestablished standards. Maintains a clean and safe workingenvironmentin accordance withestablished standards. Other dutiesinclude:Taking out the trash, Ensuring the availability of clean dishes, utensils, and glassware, delivering food to the patient floors,restockingitems,cleaningappliancesand machines. sweeping and mopping floors. Document temperature readings of thedish machineduring each shift.

Pay:Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience as aPrep Cook orCook preferred, but notrequired.
• Ability to understand and execute recipes and instructions in detail.
• Food safety certifications as required byjurisdiction. (ServSafe)
• Work alongside Cooking staff to prep for daily meal service.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in healthcare foodservice desired.
