Job summary

Wingate Living in Rhode Island seeks a Cook to provide high-quality dining experiences for residents. You will work with the Executive Chef to ensure meals meet recipe standards and support a restaurant-style service in a care setting.

The role requires at least three years in a cook position, teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Full-time schedule includes every other weekend and holidays, with potential travel for coverage.

Qualifications

• ServSafe certification course preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Minimum of three years' experience as a Cook in a food service environment.
• Detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Willing to assist at another community for coverage; travel reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
• Maintains quality and consistency of food, including temperatures and portions.
• Perform defined work routines with dietary utensils and equipment as assigned.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment, storage areas and supply spaces.
• Remove garbage and clean trash containers.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Engage with residents and families to support person-centered care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

Work closely with the Executive Chef / Director to provide residents with a high level of customer service while promoting a restaurant style dining experience.

Hours

Full Time including every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares and cooks meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
• Complies with quality and consistency of the food to include food temperatures, portion control, palatability and attractiveness of food.
• Perform defined work routines using various dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by supervisor.
• Required to assist in the cleaning of the kitchen equipment, food storage area, and supply areas according to the community schedule.
• Required to remove garbage from the kitchen and to clean trash containers.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.
• Committed to working with residents and families to develop and implement strategies that promote person-centered care.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
