Food Server - Full Time AM Shift - Hilton Des Moines Downtown (Finance)

Full Time - AM Shift. $12.00/hr plus tips! Benefits include insurance, 401k, and PTO after 90 days. Perks include free parking, DailyPay, employee meals, and discount travel programs.

A Food Server is responsible for serving food and beverages to guests, ensuring outstanding guest service and contributing to the hotel's financial success.

What will I be doing?

As a Food Server, your responsibilities include:

• Responding promptly, friendly, and efficiently to guest requests.
• Maintaining knowledge of menu items, promotions, and specials.
• Taking and inputting guest orders into the point-of-sale system.
• Delivering food and beverages timely and accurately.
• Ensuring guest satisfaction during the meal service.
• Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in compliance with regulations.
• Keeping the serving station well-stocked.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Understanding of appropriate table settings and menu items.
• Proficiency in English for understanding menus, recording, and communicating orders.
• Ability to remember and promote menu items.
• Physical ability to carry trays weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment and POS systems.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: 6 months to 1 year serving experience preferred; hospitality background is a plus.

Licenses/Certificates: TIPS certification required.
