Job summary

BrightFarms in Macon, GA is hiring a Food Safety Technician to support daily cleaning and sanitation in the harvesting and packing areas. The role requires adherence to food safety SOPs, proper PPE usage, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

The position is a hands-on manual labor role with exposure to cool environments and seasonal conditions. A flexible schedule including overtime may be required; open to applicants without a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience in a food manufacturing or agricultural environment preferred but not required
• Great attendance and dedication to the craft – the team heavily depends on one another to be on time and accountable.
• Flexibility to work the hours necessary to meet BrightFarms needs which may include overtime hours
• Ability to follow instructions, cooperate and collaborate with all employees and management.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, climb, and lift up to 40lbs.
• Open to applicants who do not have a high school diploma/GED

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of machinery
• Assembling and dissembling specific machinery at the end of the product run.
• Perform all duties on the daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
• Follow protocols for food safe environment in accordance with sanitation SOP’s.
• Wear personal protective equipment required in the facility.
• Be able to get the job done with minimal supervision.
