Job summary

Fortrex is seeking a meticulous Food Safety Sanitor to uphold the highest cleanliness and safety standards in our food production processes across North America. The role emphasizes strict adherence to food safety policies, teamwork with leads, and proactive sanitation practices.

You will operate in a wet, hot, or cold environment while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and must be able to lift and move equipment and chemical containers as needed.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate safety awareness and careful adherence to procedures.
• Ability to follow directions and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Comfort with working in a wet, hot, or cold environment while wearing PPE.

Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with leads and management to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
• Frequently lift hoses, equipment, and chemical containers.
• Wear employer-specified PPE such as gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, safety glasses, etc.
• Exposure to chemicals with PPE required for the task.
• All night standing, lifting, and crouching for periods at a time.
• Perform all tasks safely.
• Use Lock-out tag-out (LOTO).
• Other duties as assigned.
