Job summary

Schwartz Brothers Restaurants in Renton, WA, is seeking a Food Safety Quality Technician to monitor production, assure GMP adherence, and verify product specifications.

You will perform HACCP checks, log data, and coordinate with the FSQ team to prevent nonconformances, while supporting ongoing improvement and training. This role requires flexibility for nights/weekends and a willingness to train the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Experience in food safety or quality control; training provided.
• HACCP certification is a plus, but not required.
• Must obtain Washington State Food Handler’s Card within 15 days of start.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Flexible work schedule – nights and weekends when needed.
• Multilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors production of food, including ingredient, lot code, and process verifications.
• Measures product parameters such as weight, packaging, sensory data, and identity preservation to ensure specs.
• Initiates and releases product/equipment holds for non-conformances or pending micro analysis.
• Records product data in the Product Grading Spreadsheet; notifies FSQ team when out of spec.
• Inspects plant areas daily for GMP issues; resolves issues in a timely manner.
• Monitors HACCP prerequisite program compliance to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Enforces current GMP and alerts FSQ Supervisor to ongoing GMP issues.
• Verifies daily HACCP records and logs, pre-ops, oven times, Inspect logs.
• Performs daily or weekly calibration verification for scales and thermometers.
• Performs monthly validation of metal detection.
• Monitors pest control traps and logs pest sightings.
• Submits work orders for FSQ maintenance issues.
• Provides a daily FSQ summary to FSQ Supervisor and FSQ Manager via email.
