Job summary

General Mills seeks a Food Safety & Quality Technician for our Geneva, IL manufacturing facility. The role involves 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule, supporting lab testing, GMP audits, and quality decision-making to ensure safe, high-quality products.

You will perform environmental swabbing, data entry, and calibration verifications, while maintaining quality documentation and leading shift quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• 12-hour shifts and overtime to provide coverage.
• Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong commitment to Food safety & quality.
• Ability to learn and execute physical and chemical analyses.
• Ability to compile, retrieve data, and report results on GMI standard data collection systems and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Perform and support operations technician in testing Vitamin C, pH, Brix, Water activity, Gilmont leak, sanitizer titration and any additional lab testing.
• Conduct Daily GMP and Process Audits in production and storage areas of the plant.
• Respond to calls from operations regarding potential food safety & quality issues and provide input to continue run or hold.
• Place out of specification product on hold in the system and perform counts of hold product.
• Investigate out of spec material and verify times of hold for safety and quality.
