General Mills in Geneva, IL is hiring a Food Safety & Quality Technician to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a food manufacturing environment. You will support laboratory testing (Vitamin C, pH, Brix, water activity), conduct GMP and process audits, and respond to potential quality issues to determine run continuity or product holds.

The role requires a High School Diploma, ability to work overtime, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts and overtime.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while performing daily tasks.
• Strong commitment to food safety and quality.
• Ability to perform physical and chemical analyses.
• Proficient with Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook.

Responsabilités

• Perform GMP and Process Audits in production and storage areas.
• Respond to quality issues and decide to continue run or hold product.
• Place out-of-spec product on hold and count held material.
• Investigate out-of-spec materials and verify hold times.
• Collect retention samples and maintain retention area.
• Enter data into Quality System databases.
• Review HACCP logs and sanitation documents for compliance.
• Attend Daily Direction Setting and provide quality input.
• Clean and sanitize the Main Quality Fruit lab.
• Maintain quality documentation and calibration records.
• Perform environmental swabbing and equipment calibration.
• Lead shift sensory program.
• Submit samples for FPPT testing and manage holds.
• Request sanitation chemicals for shutdown cleaning.
