Job summary

The General Mills Buffalo Plant manufactures Flour and Cereal products for North America. This role provides day-to-day Food Safety and Quality support including analytical testing, sensory evaluation and communication of GMPs, HACCP and related procedures.

The position is a day shift (6 am – 6 pm) with rotating weekends and requires collaboration with operators to ensure safety, quality and plant productivity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 1+ years of QA/Control lab or analytical testing experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
• Good communication and influence skills.
• Experience and desire to work in a team environment.
• Strong statistical skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete analytical testing of ingredients, packaging and finished products.
• Enter data into a computer-based information system.
• Approve product against product specifications.
• Troubleshoot out-of-spec product, handle hold orders and make sound risk decisions.
• Partner with team leaders and operators to evaluate food safety and quality risks.
• Complete IRM program activities and SPC control charting and analysis.
• Lead shift sensory panels to ensure product meets sensory requirements.
• Make up chemical solutions and complete equipment calibrations.
