Job summary

Fortune Fish & Gourmet is seeking a Food Safety Quality Assurance Technician in Bensenville, IL. This full-time role focuses on monitoring food safety standards, assisting in quality control for returns, and acting as the liaison between sales and warehouse for quality and service issues.

The position requires HACCP certification, 5+ years in a fast-paced perishable environment, and strong Excel and Office skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive distribution, seafood industry, or retail experience in a fast-paced production environment.
• HACCP certification.
• Advanced analytical skills using Microsoft Excel. Strong command of Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills; bilingual Spanish speaker preferred.
• Saturday availability required.
• A combination of the above requirements will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Verify and document cooler temperature, receiving, sanitation, and shellfish records.
• Conduct daily walk-through of coolers to check products and identify quality or rotation issues.
• Assist in product sampling, environmental testing, and ATP testing as required.
• Follow all SQF, MSC, and GMP protocols.
• Serve as the company representative for regulatory visits, audits, or inspections.
• Assist in customer order verification and product release for shipping for customers experiencing previous complaints or disruptions.
• Participate in facility recall and food defense teams per regulatory guidelines.
• Verify all scale and thermometer calibrations.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
