Job summary

Tyson Foods is hiring a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician in the United States. You will perform physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems, document results, and take corrective actions to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Job description

Job Details: Join our team as a Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
  • Documenting and calculating results accurately.
  • Taking corrective action, when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non-conforming products, and reporting results to management.
  • Handling additional assignments as requested.
Working Conditions, Physical Requirements & Safety Equipment
  • Working Conditions Environment: Normal for a food manufacturing setting.
  • Physical Requirements: Involves lifting materials and products up to 70 pounds. Safety Equipment: Use of steel-toed work boots, hardhats, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks is required.
  • Restrictions: Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.
  • More Physical Requirements: Position involves heavy lifting (50 lbs. or more). Ability to stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day Must work in cold/hot temperatures Must be able to work in wet environment Repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing and pulling Must be able to reach high and low levels, frequently Ability to climb step ladders and or stairs Must be able to work overtime and weekends Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification.
Position Specific Requirements
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered.

Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.

  • Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork. Ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce. Good problem identification and problem-solving skills. Math and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret product specifications. Must function well under stress. Must have flexibility to work where and when needed.

  • Work Shift: 3RD SHIFT (United States of America).
