Job summary

The Nines, Portland, a Departure Portland restaurant, part of Sage Restaurant Group, is seeking a Food Runner. You will ensure timely delivery of food, assist with plate presentation and maintain knowledge of menus and service procedures.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ months' experience in a similar role, and basic knowledge of restaurant operations. This on-site position offers exposure to a high-volume, hospitality-focused team.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• 3+ months experience in a similar role preferred.
• Basic knowledge of restaurant operations is needed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the timely delivery of food and maintaining high quality of plate presentation.
• Maintain knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, and dress code.
• Adhere to all departmental policies and service procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of liquor brands, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic selections, glassware and garnishes.
• Maintain knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparation method/time, ingredients, and presentation standards.
• Comply with state liquor regulations and safety policies.
• Operate and maintain equipment properly and know how to use POS and manual systems.
• Assist other staff to ensure excellent department and hotel performance.
