Job summary

The Nines, Portland from Sage Hospitality Group is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support all facets of restaurant operations in the absence of the manager. You will supervise servers, runners, and associates, ensuring service standards are met and SOPs followed.

Responsibilities include coordinating side-work, managing the cash bank, and reading daily shift communications to ensure smooth operations and staffing. Strong hospitality leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of related restaurant experience recommended.
• Advanced knowledge of food and beverage management and guest service.

Responsibilities

• Monitor servers, runners and staff to ensure adherence to service standards and SOPs.
• Supervise guest service and observe guest signals for timely assistance.
• Assist manager in establishing and monitoring side-work and shift duties.
• Maintain cash bank per SOP, keep it balanced and secure.
• Read daily communications and prepare for the next shift; check staffing and floor coverage.
