Job summary

Verdigris Restaurant And Oxford Oaks Distillery in Oxford, NC is seeking a food runner/expo to join a strong team. The role supports front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensures accurate plate presentation, and helps manage service flow in a busy dining environment.

Qualifications

• Able to move quickly in a fast-paced dining setting.
• Prior restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
• Reliable transportation to and from the venue.

Responsibilities

• Expedite by acting as the communication bridge between front and back of house.
• Review outgoing plates for accuracy, presentation, and quality.
• Organize ticket flow and prioritize orders during service.
• Communicate special requests, dietary needs, and modifications clearly.
• Maintain composure during peak service and ensure timely delivery of dishes.
• Deliver dishes to tables promptly and describe components to guests.
• Keep expo and server areas clean and organized.
• Assist with dessert service and support servers as needed.

Responsibilities

Expediter

• Serve as the communication bridge between front and back of house.
• Review all outgoing plates to ensure accuracy, presentation, and quality.
• Organize ticket flow and prioritize orders during service.
• Ensure special requests, dietary restrictions, and modifications are communicated clearly.
• Maintain composure during high-volume service and ensure timely delivery of dishes.

Food Runner

• Deliver dishes to the correct tables promptly, accurately, and gracefully.
• Clearly describe food components and answer basic guest questions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the expo and server station areas.
• Assist with dessert service.
• Support servers and other team members in creating a smooth guest experience.

Qualifications

• Able to move in a fast paced environment
• Prior Experience in a restaurant is preferred
• Reliable Transportation
