Job summary

Toca Madera is looking for a Food Runner to ensure guests have a high-quality dining experience by delivering food promptly and accurately. You will work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams in a fast-paced, upscale setting in Houston.

Responsibilities include delivering dishes, maintaining service standards, and supporting coworkers to meet guests’ expectations while adhering to safety guidelines and contributing to a vibrant, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months of similar experience in a fine dining restaurant or similar full-service environment.
• Availability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 35 lbs and stand for the duration of shifts.
• Excellent communication skills including the ability to work in a team, assist with guests’ concerns, and to receive and follow verbal instructions provided in English.

Food Runners are responsible for controlling the flow of food in and out of the kitchen and maintaining clear communication between the kitchen and front of house team. Additional responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders and removing used dishes and utensils. Runners must have extensive menu knowledge to be able to correctly name each dish (including modifications) as it is delivered to a table. Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner.
