Job summary

KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot in Houston, TX is seeking a friendly Food Runner/Busser ready to thrive in a fast-paced dining environment. You will bridge the dining room and kitchen, helping to deliver a smooth guest experience and support the front-of-house team.

No prior restaurant experience is required, but a passion for world-class service, strong communication, and the ability to multi-task under pressure are essential. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a must.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experience is not required but preferred.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and warmly.
• Answer questions about menu and KPOT brand.
• Provide information on menu, pricing, hours, promos, policies.
• Listen attentively to guests to ensure needs are met.
• Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks.
• Observe and monitor table turnover by noting occupied, dirty or clean tables.
• Support the front-of-house team in resetting tables quickly.
• Inform management of large parties, special requests, or guest concerns.
• Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and management regarding allergy orders.
• Maintain a positive, energetic, hospitality-focused attitude.
• Multi-task between bar and dining room orders.
• Be a team player and assist others to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Food Runner/Busser at KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot, you are the bridge between the dining room and the kitchen. You will be instrumental in helping to create a smooth and enjoyable dining experience. This position is perfect for someone who loves interacting with people and thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet all guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.
• Answer guest questions regarding the menu and KPOT brand.
• Provide accurate information regarding menu, pricing, hours, promotions, and policies.
• Listen attentively to guests to ensure their needs are met.
• Assist with side work and opening/closing tasks.
• Observe and monitor table turnover by taking note of occupied, dirty or clean tables.
• Support the front-of-house team in resetting tables quickly to seamlessly transition tables to guests.
• Inform management of large parties, special requests, or guest concerns.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with the kitchen staff and management regarding allergy orders.
• Maintain a positive, energetic, and hospitality-focused attitude at all times.
• Multi-task and balance between bar and dining room orders.
• Be a team player, assisting other team members whenever needed to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive movements in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in varying conditions, including heat, cold, and noise.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Essential Functions:
