Job summary

Major Food Group is hiring a Food Runner to join Contessa atop The Newbury Boston. You will deliver food from the kitchen to guests accurately and promptly, learn menu offerings, and keep service stations organized for a smooth dining experience.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in a high-volume upscale restaurant, strong teamwork and customer service skills, and the stamina to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years working in a high-volume, upscale restaurant preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers food from kitchen and delivers to guests in an accurate and timely manner.
• Understands all menu offerings, food descriptions and ingredients and is able to verbalize to guests.
• Set tables appropriately to ensure guests have everything needed at each stage of service.
• Ensure expo and service station areas are organized and maintained.
• Maintains cleanliness of tables between courses and resets tables upon completion of meal.
• Assists front-of-house team with other duties as required or assigned.

Contessa is the crown jewel of dining atop one of Boston’s most glamorous hotels, The Newbury Boston. Delightfully re-imagined, this rooftop destination is inspired by the old-world resorts of Europe and the lasting estates of Italy where classic grand trattoria cuisine awaits.

RESPONSIBILITIES
