Job summary

Maker's Pride in Terre Haute, IN, is seeking a Quality Technician for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM). You will help ensure food safety and uphold the Quality Monitoring Scheme, meeting regulatory, customer, and company quality initiatives.

You will perform hourly quality checks on production lines (often 3 lines), escalate discrepancies to the Supervisor, and maintain 5-S practices, sanitation, and accurate paperwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Post High School education preferred.
• 3 months of as a Quality Assurance Technician required.
• Preferred: 1 year of QA or technical experience.
• Must have good attention to detail and spot defects on fast-moving lines.
• Basic understanding of machinery operations related to product quality.
• Good verbal and written communication; Spanish a plus.
• Must perform simple math including fractions, ratios, and percentages.
• MS Office Suite experience needed.
• Follow safety processes per site leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform Quality checks on production lines hourly for each line (often 3 lines).
• Escalate discrepancies with the QMS to Supervisor or Quality Manager (HACCP, Allergen, Sanitation, GMP, HOLD).
• Ensure products meet legal and customer requirements per Bluebook for each product.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and timely.
• Maintain 5-S and clean work areas.
• Keep operations information confidential.
• Maintain instrumentation and equipment in good condition.
• Label, store, and organize samples and retentions.
• Follow Hold Procedures for non-conforming materials.
• Perform HACCP and Preventive Controls checks as needed.
• Assist in test runs and new product trials.
• Participate in audits and inspections as required.
• Perform other duties as required by supervisor.
