Job summary

Chicanos Por La Causa is seeking a Food Program Outreach Representative to support the CACFP Outreach team in New Mexico. The role involves in-office duties with statewide travel about two weeks per month, ensuring facilities meet USDA guidelines and helping providers access program reimbursements.

The ideal candidate has government food program experience, strong customer service, and communication skills. This is a full-time, in-office position with travel and competitive benefits.

The CACFP(Child and Adult Care Food Program) is a USDA federal program that pays for healthy meals and snacks at homes that serve children up to age 13 and adults that receive in home care or are functionally impaired. The CACFP follow the government guidelines for healthy eating. Benefits of healthyeating are:

This will be an in officeposition with expected statewide travel approximately 2 weeks out of the month.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a government food program and/or working with home care providers.

HOW WILL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
  • You will be conducting childcare facilityvisits to ensure the facilitiesare feeding the children based on the USDA food regulations.
  • You will be responsible for recruiting childcare facilities to assist them inestablishing a monthly claim forreimbursement for their food program.
  • You will beresponsible for ensuring that home providers meet United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
  • High School Diploma or GED and two (2) progressive years of experience in general office procedures and customer service.
  • Social services and accounting background experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual a plus but not required.

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable.
  • Certifications may be required as position mandates.
