Job summary

Compass Group USA’s Canteen division seeks a Production Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of production staff to efficiently prepare and deliver finished foods to serving areas. The role emphasizes inventory control, schedule management, and adherence to recipes and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a food service operations background, 4+ years in operational management, and familiarity with budgeting and food cost controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field.
• Minimum of two to four years of retirement or adult home/care experience preferred.
• Four plus years of direct foodservice operational management experience in a restaurant, hotel, country club and/or experience producing meals for outside groups.
• Inventory and purchasing knowledge and control.
• Excellent knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and coordinates activities of production employees to prepare and deliver finished food products efficiently.
• Manages, trains, and develops staff; collaborates with Lead cook and FSD.
• Writes daily and weekly production schedules using the master cycle menu.
• Ensures tasks on production schedule are completed by staff; adheres to standardized recipes.
• Schedules maintenance on all equipment; participates in food quality meetings.
