Job summary

Butter Pecan Bakeshop is hiring a part-time production helper to assist with dough preparation, boxing for transport and packaging. You will review tasks with the shift lead, prepare ingredients and supplies, and ensure accurate labeling and counts for each flavor.

You will maintain safety and sanitation standards, assist with loading shipments, and document production records. A flexible schedule and reliable attendance are essential in this fast-paced bakery environment.

Qualifications

• Must follow strict cleaning and food safety guidelines (hairnet, apron, gloves).
• Able to work in a fast growing bakery environment.
• Must pass background check and NDA if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dough preparation and boxing for transport.
• Review production tasks with supervisor at shift start.
• Prepare ingredients, packaging and supplies per production instructions.
• Handle, portion, roll and weigh dough to standards.
• Count and box dough portions by flavor and quantity.
• Package, seal and label products with accurate information.
• Inspect weights, labels and packaging for quality.
• Stack and palletize completed boxes for shipment.
• Load items onto company vehicles as directed.
• Follow temperature, allergen and cross-contact controls.
• Complete production and quality records accurately.
• Use tools and equipment after training and authorization.
• Maintain clean, organized workstations and sanitation areas.
• Report shortages to management.
• Support other bakery production tasks as needed.
• Follow all GMPs and PPE requirements.

Job description

What you will do?

Assist with dough preparation and boxing for transport:

• Review assigned production tasks and priorities with the Production Manager, supervisor or designated lead at the beginning of the shift.
• Prepare and stage ingredients, packaging and supplies according to approved production instructions.
• Handle, portion, roll and circle dough according to established weight, appearance and quality standards.
• Accurately count and arrange dough portions in boxes according to the required quantity and flavor.
• Package, seal and label products accurately, including required flavor, quantity, lot, production date or other identifying information.
• Inspect dough and finished packages for incorrect weights, counts, labels, foreign material, damaged packaging or other quality concerns, and immediately report any issue to a manager or lead.
• Place completed boxes in designated storage or staging areas and palletize products for shipment as directed.
• Load boxes, ingredients, packaging and supplies onto company vehicles as assigned.
• Follow approved temperature-control, allergen-control and cross-contact-prevention procedures when handling dough and ingredients.
• Complete assigned production, sanitation, temperature, count or quality-control records accurately and on time.
• Safely use approved production tools, scales and equipment after receiving the required training and authorization.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, tools, equipment and dishes throughout the shift and at the end of production.
• Maintain organized production, storage and sanitation areas and promptly report ingredient, packaging or supply shortages.
• Assist with other approved bakery-production activities as assigned and trained.
• Follow all food-safety requirements, GMPs, sanitation procedures, PPE requirements and company production policies.

Job Requirements:

• Reliable, come to work on time and EXCELLENT ATTENDANCE ARE REQUIRED.
• Must maintain and follow strict cleaning and food handling/safety guidelines. Hairnet, apron, and gloves are required at all times.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent and repetitive hand movements, lifting, walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead
• Handle heavy dough and equipment including large mixing bowls, machinery, etc.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time
• Work near/around cold temperatures (freezers and refrigerators)
• Must be able to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds

Language Skills:

• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English

Work Schedule:

• Part-time
• Weekdays, some weekends may be required during holidays or high production seasons
