Job summary
Ocean Spray is seeking a Product Development Scientist to design, develop and commercialize innovative products. You will lead bench work and pilot-scale tests, collaborating across teams to meet consumer insights and business goals.
Expect to drive formulation, sensory validation and cost targets while stewarding projects from concept to launch. The role emphasizes hands-on lab work (~70%), cross-functional collaboration, and travel to commercialize formulas at manufacturing plants (~15%).
Qualifications
- BS in Food Science, Food Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry or similar science with strong interest in product development.
- Food Science foundation/strong technical acumen.
- 3+ years in product development.
- Experience with PLM system and MS Excel/PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, develop and commercialize new products and product optimizations.
- Conduct bench development prototypes, pilot scale tests and DOE.
- Ensure products meet sensory and consumer success criteria, cost and quality requirements.
- Lead multiple projects with timelines and communicate with senior leadership.
- Present ideas and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
