Job summary

Ocean Spray Cranberries in Lakeville, MA is seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to lead process engineering efforts across new product design, scale-up, and qualification.

You will collaborate with RDS peers to meet business objectives, validate processes at company and partner facilities, and implement improvements to yield, throughput, and energy efficiency. The role requires 5+ years in process engineering or R&D in food/beverage, a chemical engineering or related degree, and up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in process engineering or R&D, preferably in food/beverage.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Contribute process engineering expertise to cross functional teams to inform successful design, scale up, and qualification of new products and processes.
• Lead technical assessment, validation, and commissioning of processes at OS and partner manufacturing facilities, collaborating with RDS functional peers to meet business objectives.
• Identify, validate and implement modifications to processes to improve production yields, throughput of batching and thermal processing, utility savings, process control, and other relevant operational targets.
• Apply standard engineering techniques in the analysis of existing operational areas from raw materials to finished packages to troubleshoot process related production challenges and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead design, development, and execution of experiments in the pilot-plant and with strategic vendor partners to inform process scale up, troubleshooting, research, and new technology exploration.
• Develop and implement process specifications, standards and best practices in collaboration with operations and cross functional subject matter experts
• Maintain an up-to-date awareness of Federal, State, and Local engineering codes, regulations, and industry best practices
