Job summary

Ocean Spray is seeking a Principal Scientist, Breakthrough Innovation, to develop transformative new ingredient products and expand our portfolio beyond core categories. You will ideate, design, and commercialize innovative products, collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners to bring ideas to market.

The role requires broad ingredient and product development expertise, strong consumer insight, and the ability to execute in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Food Science or Food/Chemical Engineering foundation/strong technical acumen.
• 5–10 years in product development experience.
• Familiarity with FDA/USDA or other regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Ideate, design, develop and commercialize innovative products to expand our portfolio.
• Collaborate with Emerging Science to bring new technologies to life.
• Supervise a research technician and guide experiments and professional development.
• Bench-top prototyping and pilot-scale testing to ensure reproducibility and robustness.
• Travel up to 15% for ideation, trend treks, and collaborations.
