Job summary

Red Gold seeks a motivated Food Science student to join our Product Testing & Development team in Indiana. You will assist in ideation, formula development, sensory panels, and analytical testing to advance current and new products.

This role emphasizes teamwork, data reporting, and maintaining lab equipment while learning from experienced professionals in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in product ideation and scoping
• Support development of new products and improve existing items across product segments
• Produce batches of formulas for development, prototypes and samples
• Perform analytical testing of prototypes
• Design and conduct sensory panels
• Perform product testing across attributes (pH, viscosity, brix, color scoring, etc.)
• Organize and report data collected
• Analyze data from testing to provide insight on product prototypes
• Participate in monitoring market samples across product categories
• Develop and adhere to project timelines
• Organize project plans and provide status updates to team
• Participate in cross-functional project teams to drive projects to completion
• Perform research to support projects for product development team
• Create technical documentation and product specifications
• Perform daily calibration and general maintenance of lab equipment
• Maintain lab cleanliness and organization
