Job summary

Jobot in Deming, NM is seeking a Maintenance Seamer Mechanic for food manufacturing to service and repair seamers and filling equipment on site. The role involves welding, electrical troubleshooting, and reading schematics to ensure continuous operation in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or food processing.
• Strong experience with seamers and filling equipment.
• Background in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Welding experience required – torch and plasma cutting preferred.
• Experience with power tools and pipefitting.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards.
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on food processing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair seamers (Angelus preferred) and filling equipment.
• Conduct seam teardowns, inspections, and adjustments across various can sizes.
• Execute mechanical repairs and diagnose equipment failures.
• Perform welding, torch cutting, and fabrication work as needed.
• Troubleshoot basic electrical systems and components.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Maintain lubrication schedules and perform routine inspections.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and plant safety standards.
• Complete maintenance documentation and required paperwork.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Support additional maintenance tasks as assigned.
